gold medal

Today I picked up my well deserved knitter's gold medal!
And since yarnharlot mentioned me (I could NOT be more proud. It feels like being accepted to a knitter's hall of fame to be mentioned in that blog right now) I have had some questions about my Birch.

First: Yes, it's huge. I wanted it huge. After having seen the Birch Amy made for Mandy I wanted my own BIG Birch.
Second: I'm a loose knitter AND I used 6mm needles instead of 5mm.
Third: I used almost 4 skeins of Anny Blatt's Fine Kid (color Cordouan)

And I am amazed myself I did it in two weeks. But it's been hectic at work and knitting is my way of Not Thinking Of Work, I haven't really cleaned or done housework at all during the Olympics. I have been Knitting, Watching the Olympics (damn Sweden did good this time!) and Managing the Team Sweden Blog.

This week I'm trying crocheknit for the first time, and wondering what I want to do for the Paralympics...

Welcome new readers. It's not all knitting in here, but right now it's all I have in my head.

Hello Lisa: I came here from Stephanie's site to see your Birch and it is truly beautiful and amazing. You knit it in two weeks! and finished really strong in the Olympics. You are now on my list of knitting heros.
